This hidden gem offers a warm and inviting atmosphere where visitors can enjoy hearty meals while taking in the breathtaking natural surroundings.

The first thing you’ll notice when arriving at Camp James is the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. The restaurant is nestled in the heart of the mountains, giving it a peaceful, laid-back vibe that makes it an ideal spot for both locals and tourists. Camp James prides itself on serving up a variety of delicious dishes that cater to all tastes. From local Minahasan specialties to popular international fare, there’s something for everyone on the menu. One of their standout dishes is the "Ikan Bakar Minahasa" (grilled fish), which is a local favorite. The fish is marinated with a blend of spices and then grilled to perfection, served with sambal and a side of steamed rice. The smoky flavors from the grill, combined with the tanginess of the sambal, make this dish a must-try.

For those who prefer something heartier, the "Ayam Penyet" (smashed fried chicken) is another popular choice. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and paired with a spicy sambal that packs a punch, it's comfort food at its finest. If you’re looking for a vegetarian option, you can’t go wrong with their "Sayur Lodeh" (vegetable stew), which is full of fresh local produce and cooked in a rich, flavorful coconut milk base.

The service here is friendly and attentive, with staff always ready to offer recommendations or explain the ingredients in their dishes. The restaurant also has an impressive drink menu, featuring everything from refreshing iced teas to tropical fruit juices, perfect for the warm Sulawesi weather.

  • Got a chance to be here after it was opened... It is just on the lakeside of Tondano lake... You can feel be in the US while enterimg the place. Just pay 20k yoi can have a hot tea or coffee. There are a lot of seats you can find and choose, then walk around to take pictures and hangout... Spots for picture taking are from hollywood artists, presidents, places, pictures, etc... Foods and other drinks are also available. Its not yet my time to taste...

  • The place is comfy and has a very edgy style. The food and drinks are so so but it has a fair price. The enterance fee is 20k but you can exchange it to a cup of tea or coffee
